Telling Your Child Of The Adoption

 Email Article    Print Article

Wef 1 Feb 07, the Director of Social Welfare of MCYS, as guardian in adoption for a child proposed for adoption, will require all applicants to undergo a workshop on disclosure.

This workshop is about telling your child of/about his/her adoption.  Understanding disclosure is a first step towards normalising adoption, with the aim of helping adoptive parents bring a healthy awareness to the child of his/her own personal background while growing up.  The process will help the child understand and accept his/her life history better, thereby helping to promote healthy emotional and psychological development.

For details on the workshop, please liaise with the Child Welfare Officers of MCYS or the assessors of accredited agencies when doing your Home Study Reports.
