Interested in going one step further and setting up a non-profit organisation?

If you wish to help people by providing a social and community service - it could be financial, emotional, educational, health and social aid and support - you probably have a number of questions, the first being registration of the organisation.

Fortunately, the National Council of Social Service provides a comprehensive guide on how to set up a Voluntary Welfare Organisation.

Once you've set up your organisation, you'll need to raise funds for the programmes and services you plan to provide. There are resources available to you online on fund-raising:

The National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre has information on Ways to source for donations.

When carrying out fund-raising activities, you'll need to apply for relevant licenses - click here to find out more.
