OFFICIAL SCHOOL FAMILY EDUCATION LOGO *NEW*
We are pleased to unveil the official School Family Education Logo!

The three letters S, F and E are arranged to form a tree with icons of crescents and a heart. The crescents symbolise the young and the orange heart, family love and warmth. The crescents and the heart come together to form a tree symbolising a strong family rooted in values and a shelter from life’s challenges. The logo is made up of two basic colours – blue representing noble individuals in the school, home and community working hand in hand to nurture our young; orange depicts the joy and harmony of the family. The logo reflects the School Family Education (SFE) programme which brings together a community of passionate individuals to empower parents, shape strong and stable families and nurture our future.
The SFE Logo was launched on 17 July 2010 at Innova Primary School, winner of the logo competition. In conjunction with the launch and the school’s Open House, a series of parenting talks on ‘Fostering Independence & Responsibility in Children’ were conducted in English, Chinese and Malay.
MCYS encourages SFE schools and service providers to display the SFE logo on their websites and SFE publicity materials to promote their commitment to shape families and nurture our future. Please use the SFE Logo in accordance with the SFE Logo Corporate Identity Guidelines.
Click here for the SFE Logo Corporate Identity Guidelines. To receive a soft copy of the logo in high resolution, please email your request to mcys_sfe@mcys.gov.sg.

SFE PROGRAMME AND FUNDING GUIDELINES
*IMPORTANT*
As part of our continual efforts to ensure that school, parents and students fully benefit from the SFE programme, we have refined the existing programme and funding guidelines to provide more defined and focused directions. This was based on several sharing and networking sessions held with SFE Service Providers and Coordinators over the past few months as well as feedback from schools and parents. We thank all of you for your valuable feedback and hope that the refined guidelines will provide more clarity in the implementation of the SFE programme. Let’s continue to work together to make SFE a successful programme.
Please refer to Annex 8 of the ‘SFE Guide on Set-up and Management’ found on the SFE website, or click here for the detailed guidelines. For enquiries, please email: mcys_sfe@mcys.gov.sg.

Background
School Family Education (SFE) is one of the recommendations of Family Matters! Singapore [previously known as Public Education Committee on Family (PEC)].
SFE adopts a holistic family learning model – equipping parents with effective parenting skills and training them to be parent facilitators, helping school staff to enhance their family life, and providing students with life skills training.
The parent-child relationship has much impact on the child’s academic achievements and positive attitudes/ behaviour, regardless of socio-economic status, ethnic/ racial background or parents’ education level.
SFE has been well received by parents and participating schools. Since 2002, 201 schools have joined the SFE family and more than 1.5 million people have benefited from the life-enriching programmes under SFE.
